About
Karolina Bednorz is an awarded Polish designer and ceramist working in Modena, Italy.
In her works she connects knowledge of ceramic materials, traditional hand craft and modern spirit to find contemporary solutions in ceramic material.
Karolina is a MA graduate from Academy of Art and Design, Wrocław, Poland in speciality “Art and Design in Ceramic” (2010/15). She studied within a scholarship programme at Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche, Faenza, Italy (2012/13).
Karolina Bednorz took part in several internships and projects like Art Food (2014) with Ćmielów Design Studio and International Symposium of Ceramic Trends at Porcelain Factory Sargadelos, Spain (2013). She collaborated with the oldest European porcelain factory Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen GmbH, Germany (2017) and she works as designer in residency with Portuguese porcelain factory Vista Alegre (2019).
She won the prize at “Cevisama Lab Ceramic Design” International Tile Award in Valencia, Spain (2013). In 2017 she won a competition for young designers, researchers, makers and artists “Future Lights in Ceramics” held within European Programme “Ceramics and its Dimensions”.
Her works were exhibited on shows, like “London Design Week” (2014, 2015), “Ambiente Show” (2017, Frankfurt am Main, Germany) and in touring exhibition “Shaping the Future” (2017-18) which was presented in Germany, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, UK and Finland.
